More About Me

Anabela is the proprietor of Brush Strokes Fine Art LLC, a BBB A+ rated business based in Fairfax, Virginia. Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, she comes from a family of nationally renowned artists. Her grandfather studied in Europe on an art scholarship, while her grandmother engaged in Berlin’s vibrant art culture before refining her skills in Chile. From ages six to eight, Anabela began studying guitar in Santiago, later advancing to music theory and classical guitar for five years at the prestigious Escuela Moderna de Música Conservatory. A third-generation impressionist artist, she has been surrounded by art her entire life and had the rare opportunity to participate in her grandparents’ exhibitions.

Her artistic journey began with abstract acrylic paintings created as a hobby. Driven by curiosity for diverse styles and mediums, and a profound admiration for the masters of impressionism, she expanded her repertoire to explore various techniques and subjects. Her versatility shines through in the breadth of her work from delicate watercolor florals to acrylic still lifes and oil landscapes, skillfully adapting mood, style, and medium to each creation..

She is also an affordable and accomplished restorer, adept at revitalizing artwork that has aged, sustained accidental damage, or become darkened by smoke, soot, grease, linseed oil, or dust, as well as pieces that have begun to crack. With expertise in cleaning and restoring oil paintings, acrylics, watercolors, and works on paper, she is equally accomplished in creating mural compositions and collectors’ portraits. Art buyers value both her exceptional craftsmanship and her affordability in framing.
