Cost of Restoration

How Much Does Art Restoration Cost?

Unfortunately, there is no way to give an honest answer to this question without a close physical examination the piece of art to be restored, as the time and cost depends on the type of artwork, materials used, and the particular type of damage or degradation that needs to be corrected.

Cleanings are lower cost restoration projects that usually take 2 - 4 weeks for a small piece, and typically start at around $550 for a deep cleaning, removing linseed oil and darkened varnishes. Structural damage such as tears, or flaking paint, will take more time to repair properly. It is important to remember that the restoration is a process that must be undertaken with the utmost care and compassion, and cannot be rushed. For this reason, I would really recommend getting to in touch with me or stopping by one of my shows to talk to me in person and arrange an opportunity for me to examine the artwork directly. This will give allow me to provide you with details of the process that your piece of art will need to be restored properly, along with all the factors that can affect the cost and the expected time frame.
