Cost of Restoration

How Much Does Art Restoration Cost?

Art restoration costs vary significantly and can only be accurately determined after an in-person examination of the piece, as factors such as the type of artwork, materials used, and extent of damage or deterioration all influence the process. Light cleanings are typically more affordable, taking about 2–4 weeks for a small piece and starting at approximately $550. More complex work, such as deep cleaning, removing linseed oil and darkened varnish, or repairing structural issues like tears or flaking paint, requires additional time. As restoration is a meticulous and delicate process that cannot be rushed, an in-person meeting is recommended to assess the artwork, outline the necessary restoration steps, and provide an informed estimate of cost and timeline.
